Motion capture meets muscular anatomy in VR.

YEAR2020

A team of kinesiology researchers were interested in exploring potential applications of motion capture and virtual reality technology to analyze & visualize human muscular activation. I custom-rigged a complex muscular anatomy model in Blender, developed a prototype VR application using an Xsens motion capture suit and Unity, and provided user-friendly editor tools to enable their subject matter experts to adjust muscular activation patterns in real-time.

In the end it was decided that pose alone was not a sufficiently reliable method to estimate muscle activation – however, the client was happy with this result and was able to use it in a demo for investors.

Very skilled developer, great communication, and extremely disciplined on deadlines. We are looking forward to working with Jason in the future!
